After the debacle of losing lurid’s database to an absolutely stupid Movabletype / MTBlacklist bug, I let the site sit in limbo for many months before I got the stomach to even touch it again. What’s worse is that MTBlacklist’s author, Jay Allen, announced, with great fanfare, pomp and circumstance that he was accepting a job with SixApart as the Product Manager for MovableType at about the time that his product, working in conjunction with MT, caused me to lose 4 years of work. Well, what actually caused me to lose 4 years of work was not having good backups, but that’s beside the point of the story.
I have ditched Movabletype and moved to WordPress, and I couldn’t be happier. I like the layout much better than MT– it’s cleaner, more intuitive, fully standards-based, and has some killer out of the box templates.
I’ll port old content over as I have time.. starting with the suicide posts and other heavy traffic generators.
It’s good to be back online.
