To DS & Sir Rachel Cowsharer,
You both fail to realize, you ARE in fact the kind of morons he describes in this article. Sorry you're dense enough not to grasp this simple point except (in DS' case) using it in a sense of irony that actually... WAS TRUTH (a hard fact to swallow, I know). As for both of you and your petty insults -which were obviously brought about because you both realized he described you exactly- they lack substance, and are overall unsatisfying. I can't say I played EverQuest. But I have played WoW (which is an extremely simple and player friendly version of EverQuest) and I can ASSURE you, the changes brought about by Blizzard were idiotic. How many players do I see who are terrible but whine about all the things wrong in the game now? Almost all of them. How was it before? The same. The problem with MMORPGs isn't that they are "imbalanced" or anything of the sort, it's that people suck so bad, or are so moronic, that in order to win they need everything else dumbed down to their level, which sadly makes the game suck for everyone else. So bit by bit these companies slowly destroy their own game. About the only thing Blizzard did do right was provide easily obtainable gear for the idiotic masses, although even in that they destroyed their PvP system (resilience). It would have been better in the end for them to leave the level cap at 60, to be quite honest. In fact, MANY players have quit the game since the expansion, and I for one have finally given up (“If you don’t like it, then leave! Less lag for me!” and, ironically, “Stop whining.”) Oh, I'm sorry, I beat you to your own argument, well actually, the author of this article beat you to your own argument. What you morons don't realize is that the original player base is what makes the game. When more and more idiots join, it doesn't mean you should dumb down the classes and dungeons/raids for them. That's the LAST thing you should do. But I suppose this is too hard for you to understand. I'll just make this easy for you, go back to running Kara in 4+ hours (when it should only take 3), or if you're lucky, ZA and maybe even Tempest Keep which are SO HARD compared to pre-TBC raids. And to make it even easier for you new players, please do farm honor in battlegrounds. Make it about marks and not winning or losing but ruining the game for all the other players who want to win and have fun (GASP).
Please, kill yourselves. Do us all a favor. Look into the VHEMT, it would suit both of you well.

This guy has a point~ There are waaaay too many assholes online screwing the game up for everyone, just bitching about every little thing that isn't going exactly the way they want it. This blog hasn't even delved into the concept of "noobs" and "pros", which would probably make for another good, long rant. (i.e.~ Everyone is a "noob" at some point, and a lot of the "pros" should fall off their high horses and break their necks, maybe THAT will teach them some humility O.o)

You Sir suck. I think you have a very serious mental problem.I also take you live in a basement. This blog annoyed me from the beginning when you said "from the beginning since everquest"
UO "Ultima Online" was the beginning - The mmorpg world would not be like it is if UO hadnt started all.... But you were probally still a toddler then... Have a nice day
A casual mmorpg-gamer who gets oissed off whis stupid blogs like this.

Devs listen too much to the masses, it's true. Whiners and such seem to dictate the gameplay for everyone and ultimately screw it up for everyone.

The fundamental flaw in the logic here is that the devs make their income from these whiners and ignoring them can lead to a decrease in sales and consequently, their income. A kind of 'no-win situation' since no changes means whiners will quit but changes create other whiners who will quit if they don't get their way. One has to balance one with the other and take the lesser of the two evils, generally the one that will make the fewer number quit.

The other flaw in the OP's logic is that, by writing this post, he put's himself squarely in the same category as the posters he's ranting about.

On the other hand, I'm just a 12 year old veteran basement lurker with an IQ of 25 who can't spell to save my life and want every game to be like EQ (even though I don't know anything about EQ except the name).

Found this on SHC. It's the best post I've read in ages, although, that's why i like eve, the developers ignore the whining hordes and do whatever it is anyway. The other people leave the forums to the whiners and get on with it. BTW, killing the dickheads is often fun and quite amusing (less so in WOW when they come back to life and call you a noob and threaten you with their alt). So maybe somebody can tack some examples/exceptions on the end of this great post and stick it on every major MMORPG forum. Again, fantastic. don't listen to me though, im a 12 year old retarded whiner, who is butchering the english language, lolz.
